  • Only centres that have fully settled assessment fees will access tools for the July/August 2026 Summative Theory Assessment.
  • Candidates are barred from carrying mobile phones into exam rooms and must report 30 minutes early, with frisking required before entry.
  • Trainers serving as invigilators must uphold professionalism, while institutions must verify Role‑Based Access Control accounts to ensure only authorised officers access assessment tools.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) has issued fresh guidelines to assessment centres nationwide ahead of the July/August 2026 Summative Theory Assessment, set to commence on Monday, 20th July, 2026.

The Council directed principals of national polytechnics, institutes of science and technology, technical training institutes, technical and vocational colleges and private colleges, as well as vice chancellors of universities implementing Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) and managers of vocational training centres, to strictly adhere to the guidelines.

TVET CDACC said the measures were meant to ensure the smooth, secure and credible administration of the assessment.

Among the key directives, the Council said only institutions that have fully settled assessment fees will be granted access to assessment tools. All assessment centres have been required to clear any outstanding fees before the commencement date.

On possession of mobile phones, institutions were advised to ensure that no trainee enters the assessment room with a mobile phone or any unauthorised electronic device. Candidates have been directed to leave their phones in hostels or other designated secure areas before reporting to the assessment venue.

Regarding reporting time, the Council said candidates should be seated in the assessment room at least thirty minutes before the commencement of each session. The morning session begins at 8:00 a.m., while the second session begins at 11:30 a.m. Assessment centres have further been advised to conduct thorough frisking of all candidates before entry into the assessment rooms to safeguard the integrity of the process.

On the role of invigilators and supervisors, the Council appreciated institutions for availing their trainers to serve during the assessment period and urged them to observe the highest standards of professionalism, punctuality, fairness and transparency.

The Council also reminded assessment centres to review their Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) accounts and ensure that only authorised officers have access to the assessment tools. Institutions that have not completed the RBAC verification process were asked to urgently submit a duly completed Role-Based Access Form, available on the Centre Portal Dashboard, to cdacc.tvet@gmail.com, or contact the ICT Department for assistance.
