Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic hosted a mentorship and empowerment session for its trainees aimed at equipping them with essential life skills to foster self-confidence, personal growth, emotional well-being, and purposeful decision-making.
Held on Thursday, July 16, the session was themed “Stronger Than Your Struggles” and featured open discussions, practical advice, and motivational messages from guest speakers, Janet Kwamboka and Prof. Kenneth Otieno.
Trainees were encouraged to embrace their identity, build resilience, and confidently overcome the personal and social challenges they face.
The initiative underscored the institution’s commitment to holistic education by complementing technical training with character development, self-leadership, and the resilience needed to excel both in their studies and in life beyond the classroom.

The event comes just days after Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic convened a stakeholders’ engagement forum on trainee recruitment.

The meeting brought together representatives from government, the education sector, industry and the local community to explore strategies for expanding access to quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Discussions highlighted the Polytechnic’s academic programmes, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), career services and other initiatives designed to boost trainee enrolment while strengthening collaboration with industry and key stakeholders.
