- Homa Bay County has released the football pools for the 2026 Junior Secondary Schools championships.
- The tournament will be hosted at Mbita National School, with matches kicking off on July 17.
- Winning teams will qualify for the Nyanza Region games before advancing to the national championships in Thika.
The Homa Bay County Junior Secondary Schools Association has unveiled the football pools for this year’s county championship, which will be hosted at Mbita National School.
According to the fixtures released by the organisers, Pool A will feature Janeiro from Rangwe Sub-county, Gulwe from Suba South Sub-county and Ndwani Township from Suna South Sub-county.
Pool B will comprise Roo from Suna Central Sub-county, Ototo from Rachuonyo South Sub-county, Siburi from Rachuonyo West Sub-county and Watata Township representing Homa Bay Sub-county.
Pool C will feature Sikori from Rachuonyo South Sub-county, Obuya from Rachuonyo North Sub-county and ICIPE.
The organisers have called on all participating teams to maintain discipline throughout the tournament and observe strict time management.
They said the football matches are scheduled to kick off on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Road to the national championships
The county games will run from July 15 to July 19, 2026.
Winning teams will represent Homa Bay County at the Nyanza Regional Championships, scheduled for July 21 and 22, 2026, at Awendo Green Stadium in Migori County.

The top teams at the regional competition will qualify for the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two National Championships, which will be held from July 28 to August 1, 2026, in Thika Municipality, Kiambu County.
