Gifted football tactician Nelson Simwa has been rewarded with KSh100,000 by Tenwek High School Senior Principal Mutali Chesebe following the team’s historic victory in the Rift Valley Secondary Schools football championships.
The reward follows Simwa’s remarkable achievement in guiding Tenwek High School to its first-ever Rift Valley regional football title in Narok County.
The triumph also made Tenwek the first school from Bomet County and the wider South Rift region to win the prestigious regional football championship.
Under Simwa’s leadership, Tenwek High School defied the odds by overcoming established football powerhouses to write a new chapter in the school’s sporting history.
The team secured the regional title after edging Menengai High School 1-0 in the final.
School Principal Mutali Chesebe praised Simwa for his commitment, discipline and outstanding leadership.
He said the coach’s achievement had significantly raised the profile of both Tenwek High School and the South Rift region.
Technical excellence
Simwa’s success was supported by a committed technical bench that included goalkeeper coach Erick Bosuben and other members of the coaching staff who played key roles throughout the tournament.
The KSh100,000 award recognises Simwa’s contribution to school sports and one of the greatest football achievements ever recorded by a school from Bomet County.
