Vihiga Friends High School has emerged as the overall champion of the 2026 Western Region Scouts Competition after delivering an outstanding performance at the regional event held in Malava.

The school topped the standings with 160 points, narrowly edging Kaimosi Boys High School, which finished second with 158 points. Butere Boys High School secured third place with 136 points, while Kolanya Boys High School and Bungoma High School completed the top five after each registering 135 points.

The competition, which commenced on Friday, July 3, 2026, brought together top scout teams from secondary schools across the Western region to showcase their leadership, discipline, practical scouting skills, and teamwork.
According to the official results, Vihiga Friends High School topped the standings with 160 points, narrowly edging Kaimosi Boys High School, which finished second with 158 points. Butere Boys High School secured third place with 136 points, while Kolanya Boys High School and Bungoma High School completed the top five after each registering 135 points.

The victory has earned Vihiga Friends High School the honour of representing the Western region at the National Scouts Competition, scheduled to be held in Kiambu County later this August.
In a congratulatory message shared after the competition, the school commended its scouts for their remarkable achievement and wished them success as they prepare for the national championships.
The achievement underscores the school’s continued excellence in co-curricular activities, with school leaders expressing confidence that the team will uphold the region’s reputation at the national level.
