A family in Juja, Kiambu County, is expressing relief after their teenage daughter, who had been missing for several days, was found and safely reunited with her loved ones.

The student, identified as Patience Wambui Gitau, a Form Three student at St. Teresa Gatura Girls High School, was discovered during a search conducted by relatives following efforts to trace her whereabouts.

According to family members, they had been searching for the teenager since her disappearance and eventually focused on a young man living within the same neighbourhood.
After confronting him and seeking answers, relatives reportedly gained access to his residence, where the missing student was found.
The discovery brought an emotional end to days of uncertainty for the family, who had been appealing for information that could help locate the girl. Witnesses said tension rose at the scene as residents gathered following the discovery.

The family has also raised concerns about items allegedly recovered from the house, claims that investigators are expected to verify as part of ongoing inquiries.
Police are now expected to piece together the events leading to the student’s disappearance, establish whether she left home voluntarily or under other circumstances, and determine if any laws were broken.
