Kipsoen Boys and Kimuron Boys have each been handed a three-year suspension from the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) Games after they were found guilty of fielding ineligible players during the recently concluded county competition.

The sanctions were imposed following a review and investigation of appeals lodged against the two teams by the Elgeyo Marakwet County Secondary School Sports Association (EMCSSSA).

The association established that both schools breached the KSSSA Competition Regulations by including players who were not eligible to participate in the tournament.

As part of the disciplinary action, EMCSSSA also nullified the county final between Kipsoen Boys and Kimuron Boys, declaring its result invalid.

To determine the county champions, the association recalled Kamoi Secondary School and St. Mary’s Kitany Secondary School to contest a replay of the final.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Iten Grounds, with kick-off set for 2:00 p.m. The winner will earn the right to represent Elgeyo Marakwet County at the forthcoming Rift Valley Regional Secondary School Games in Narok.

The decision means both Kipsoen Boys and Kimuron Boys will miss the upcoming school competitions, dealing a major blow to the two football powerhouses.

EMCSSSA said the ruling underscores its commitment to enforcing competition rules and ensuring that school sports are conducted fairly, transparently, and with integrity.
