- The Ministry of Education (MoE) has revised the dates for the 2026 Bomet County Junior School and Primary Schools Sports Championship.
- The championships will now be held on July 8 and 9 at Siongiroi Green Stadium.
- Schools have been advised to adjust their preparations in line with the new schedule.
Bomet County Director of Education Leonard Ngugi has announced revised dates for the 2026 County Junior School (JSS) and Primary Schools Sports Championship.
In a circular dated June 30, 2026, Ngugi informed all Sub-county Directors of Education and Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (QASOs) that the championship will now be held on Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9, 2026, instead of the earlier scheduled dates.
According to the circular, the championships will be staged at Siongiroi Green Stadium in Chepalungu Sub-county, where schools from across Bomet County will compete in various sporting disciplines.
The communication directs education officials to take note of the revised schedule and make the necessary logistical arrangements to facilitate smooth participation by schools.
Preparations continue
The change is expected to give schools, coaches and organisers adequate time to adjust their preparations ahead of the county championships, which will determine the teams that will represent Bomet County in the next stage of the Kenya Primary and Junior Schools Sports Association (KPJSSA) competitions.
The circular, signed by County Director of Education Leonard Ngugi, urges education officers to promptly communicate the revised dates to schools to avoid confusion.
