A leadership dispute has emerged within the Students Welfare Association of Ololmasani (SWAO), with concerns being raised over the management and financing of an ongoing football tournament in Ololmasani ward, Transmara East sub County of Narok County.
In a public notice relayed on behalf of concerned students, members of the association stated that a change in leadership took place on June 4, 2026, when the position of SWAO Chairperson transitioned from Shadrack Langat, popularly known as Dr. Pills, to Julius Cherangut.
According to the statement, students have questioned the continued organization of a football tournament that had initially been sanctioned by SWAO but is currently being coordinated by Langat.
The notice indicates that following the leadership transition, Langat no longer held the authority to represent or commit the association to activities, events, or financial obligations on behalf of SWAO.

Concerned students maintain that any actions related to the tournament after June 4 should be regarded as being undertaken in a personal capacity rather than under the authority of the current student leadership.
The students also raised concerns regarding the tournament’s finances. According to the notice, the association’s account balance reportedly stands at Ksh2,000, and there is no known executive resolution authorizing expenditure for the continuation of the tournament after the change in leadership.
As a result, questions have been raised regarding the source of funds currently being used to facilitate the competition.
The concerned students have urged teams, players, referees, service providers and other stakeholders involved in the tournament to seek clarification regarding any financial or organizational commitments associated with the event.

They further stated that any obligations arising after June 4, 2026, should be addressed directly with the current organizers and should not automatically be attributed to SWAO without confirmation from the association’s current leadership.
The notice concludes with a call for transparency, accountability and responsible management of student affairs.
Students have encouraged stakeholders to rely on official communication channels and current office bearers for accurate information regarding the association and its activities.
Efforts to obtain a response from former chairperson Langat regarding the allegations and concerns raised in the statement were not immediately successful. His position on the matter was not included in the notice.
