Senior officials from the Ministry of Education (MoE) are today holding a high-level meeting to discuss urgent measures aimed at addressing the growing number of dormitory fire incidents reported in schools across the country.
The meeting comes amid increasing concern from education stakeholders following a wave of fires that have disrupted learning in several institutions, destroyed property worth millions of shillings and raised fears over student safety.

The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening security measures, enhancing student welfare and improving surveillance within learning institutions.
At the same time, security agencies are separately convening to assess the situation and provide recommendations on the way forward.
