Excitement is building ahead of the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sport Association (KSSSA) Bomet East sub-county games, which will be held on June 11 and 12 at Kiptobit Secondary School.
According to reports, schools from across the sub-county are on top gear preparing for a highly competitive tournament as teams’ battle for qualification to the county championships.
In the boys’ football category, Korara Secondary School, Lekimbo Secondary School and Saoset Secondary School have been drawn in Pool A while Kapsimbiri Secondary School, Kaporuso Secondary School and Koibeiyon Secondary School will face off in Pool B.
The girls’ football competition will see Cheboin Secondary School, Korara Secondary School and Kaporuso Secondary School compete in Pool A. Pool B comprises Kiplabotwa Secondary School, county reigning champions St. Catherine Girls and Kong’otik Day Secondary School.

Volleyball contests are also expected to attract strong competition. In the boys’ category, Bukunye Secondary School, Tumoiyot Secondary School and Lekimbo Secondary School are in Pool A, while Kembu Day Secondary School, Kiptulwa Secondary School and Kipreres Secondary School make up Pool B.
For girls’ volleyball, Lekimbo Secondary School, St. Catherine Girls and Mulot Girls have been placed in Pool A, while Koibeiyon Secondary School, Kong’otik Girls and Kembu Day Secondary School will battle it out in Pool B.
In netball, St. Catherine Girls, Lekimbo Secondary School and Mulot Girls are in Pool A, while Korara Secondary School, Kipyosit Secondary School and Kong’otik Girls form Pool B.
With several schools boasting strong sporting traditions, fans are eagerly awaiting the two-day tournament, which is expected to showcase talent, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The top-performing teams will earn the opportunity to represent Bomet East Sub-County at the county level.
