Nyaribari Masaba MP Daniel Manduku has urged parents to take care of their children, especially those in lower classes, to cushion them from dangers brought by the ongoing rains in the area.
Speaking at Nyanturago Junior Secondary School, Manduku said parents should provide warm clothes to protect children from the cold, which could lead to illnesses such as pneumonia. He was presiding over the opening of a new double-storey classroom block at the school on Friday.

The MP said the classrooms were constructed using NG-CDF funds at a cost of more than 30 million shillings. According to him, the new facilities will decongest learners and give them a conducive environment to concentrate on their studies.
Manduku asked the school management committee and parents to consider building storeyed classrooms to avoid land scarcity that comes with rapid population growth in the area. He said vertical expansion is a practical solution as available land becomes limited.

He also stressed the importance of modern classrooms equipped with proper book storage facilities, modern lockers, and chairs. He noted that such facilities improve organization, protect learning materials, and create a comfortable environment that supports better concentration and academic performance.
Manduku told parents and teachers to support children with talent in sports, saying sports are treated like any other subject under the current Competency Based Curriculum.
Manduku asked residents to unite and support education and other development projects instead of engaging in divisive rhetoric.
