Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has challenged students of St. Mary’s Kibabii Boys Senior School to embrace discipline, integrity, and hard work, describing the virtues as critical ingredients for success in academics and life.

The Governor made the remarks during an alumni engagement forum held at the institution, where he returned to his former school to inspire learners and rally support for the revitalization of the school’s alumni association.

Lusaka, who studied at the school between 1977 and 1980, reflected on his educational journey and urged students to remain focused on their goals regardless of their social or economic backgrounds.

Addressing hundreds of learners, the county boss emphasized that determination and commitment to education can unlock opportunities and shape future leaders.

He lauded St. Mary’s Kibabii Boys Senior School for its long-standing reputation as a center of academic excellence, leadership, and character formation, noting that the institution has produced distinguished professionals and leaders serving in various sectors across the country.

“The future belongs to disciplined and hardworking individuals. Never allow your circumstances to define your destiny. Through dedication, integrity, and resilience, you can achieve greatness,” Lusaka told the students.

The Governor also announced plans to champion the revival of a vibrant St. Mary’s Kibabii Boys Alumni Association aimed at strengthening mentorship, mobilizing resources, and fostering closer ties between former students and the school.

According to Lusaka, a strong alumni network will play a key role in guiding learners, supporting infrastructure development, and preserving the institution’s rich heritage for future generations.

He called upon former students to actively participate in the growth of their alma mater and contribute towards programs that will improve learning outcomes and inspire academic excellence.

The alumni forum brought together former students, teachers, school administrators, and learners in a renewed effort to strengthen the school’s legacy and chart a common vision for its future development.

Education stakeholders who attended the event hailed the initiative, saying increased alumni involvement would provide valuable mentorship opportunities and enhance support for the institution’s academic and co-curricular programs.

The engagement ended with renewed commitment from alumni and school leadership to work together in advancing the school’s tradition of excellence and nurturing the next generation of leaders.
