The AIC Kang’itit Girls Secondary School community in Turkana County is in mourning following the sudden death of the school’s Deputy Principal, Kevin Lomojong, who died in a tragic road accident along the Lokori–Lokichar Road.

Lomojong lost his life while returning from the school’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), an event that had brought together staff, parents, and stakeholders to discuss the institution’s progress and future development plans.

The accident has left students, teachers, and parents in deep shock, with many describing him as a committed educator and a father figure to the school community.

According to accounts from the school fraternity, Lomojong had actively participated in the AGM discussions earlier in the day, contributing to plans aimed at strengthening academic performance and student welfare.

His sudden passing has therefore been described not only as a personal loss to his family but also as a significant blow to the school’s leadership and continuity.

Students at AIC Kang’itit Girls Secondary School have been left emotionally distressed, with counselling support being encouraged to help them cope with the tragedy.

Teachers have also joined in mourning a colleague they describe as hardworking, disciplined, and deeply dedicated to the growth of learners.

The school administration, together with education stakeholders in the region, is expected to make arrangements for memorial services and provide support to the bereaved family.

Community members have also begun sending messages of condolence and solidarity during this difficult period.

The late Lomojong is remembered for his commitment to education and his role in mentoring both students and junior teachers.

His contributions to the school’s academic and administrative development have been widely acknowledged across the region.
