The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) West Pokot Branch Executive Secretary, Dorcas Lotome, has joined Kenyans from across the country in mourning and extending heartfelt condolences to the parents, teachers, learners, relatives, friends, and families affected by the tragic fire incident at Utumishi Academy.
Speaking in the wake of the tragedy, Lotome said the loss of young lives and the suffering caused by the heartbreaking incident had deeply touched the nation.
“As Kenyans, we mourn together and share in the pain of the families who have lost their beloved children, friends, and colleagues,” she said.

She conveyed her sympathy to the entire Utumishi Academy fraternity and all those directly and indirectly affected by the tragedy.
Lotome wished the bereaved families strength, comfort, and resilience during this difficult period. She also encouraged teachers and learners to remain hopeful and united as they work towards overcoming the painful experience.
The KNUT official reiterated her solidarity with the affected families and the school community, noting that the nation stands with them as they navigate the challenging aftermath of the tragedy.
