Sotik Sub-county will host Education Day 2026 at Kisabei Secondary School, with Basic Education PS Prof Julius Bitok expected to attend and commission new education projects.

Sotik Sub-county in Bomet County is set to host a major education celebration on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Kisabei Secondary School, bringing together education stakeholders, leaders, teachers, parents, and students for the much-anticipated Sotik Education Day 2026.

The event is expected to be graced by the Principal Secretary in the State Department for Basic Education, Prof. Julius Bitok, alongside Sotik MP Francis Sigei and members of the education fraternity.

The organizers say the event will focus on celebrating academic excellence, leadership development, and mentorship among learners across schools in Sotik.

Outstanding students who have demonstrated resilience, discipline, and strong academic performance will be recognized during the event.

Speaking ahead of the celebration, leaders described the Education Day as a platform that will unite the community in appreciating the transformative role education continues to play in shaping the future of young people in Sotik.

Modern tuition block

The event will also feature the commissioning of a modern tuition block at Kisabei Secondary School.

The new facility consists of four fully furnished classrooms and two offices aimed at improving the learning environment and expanding infrastructure within the institution.

In addition, Prof. Bitok is expected to flag off mobile laboratories for junior schools, fully funded through the NG-CDF programme.

The mobile laboratories are intended to support the implementation of Competency-Based Education (CBE) and strengthen the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.

The initiative will help bridge gaps in practical learning, especially in schools unable to construct fully equipped science laboratories due to the high costs involved.
