There was joy and celebration in Chepkumia, Nandi County, after Head of Public Service Felix Koskei stepped in to support Faith Jepchumba, a Form Four student at Kapsabet Girls High School, by pledging to clear her outstanding school fees.
Faith, a candidate preparing for this year’s national examinations, had been sent home two weeks ago over fee arrears amounting to Ksh119,000. The student, who hails from Koibem Village in Chepkumia, Emgwen Constituency, had remained stranded at home as her parents struggled to raise the required amount.
According to reports, Faith’s plight gained public attention after she made an appeal on social media seeking help to continue with her education.

“This is a rare gesture by the Head of Public Service that other leaders should emulate,” said an elated John Kosgey.
