The Kisumu National Polytechnic (TKNP) has been honoured as the Best Holistic Institutional Excellence and Community-Integrated National Polytechnic of the Year 2026 in East Africa during an award ceremony held tonight at the Argyle Grand Hotel, Nairobi.
The award was presented during the 7th Edition of the East Africa Superwoman Awards in recognition of TKNP’s outstanding contributions as a premier TVET institution in Kenya and as the Regional Flagship Technical Institute for Textile Technology.
The colourful event was graced by the Principal Secretary in the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr Jane Imbunya.
The institution’s Chief Principal, Ms Catherine Kelonye, was praised for her relentless leadership and commitment to positioning TKNP as a hospitable, holistic, innovative, and globally competitive centre of excellence in technical and vocational education and training.

The recognition further cements TKNP’s growing reputation as a leading institution in skills development, innovation, research, and community empowerment within the region.
