Principals from Malava Constituency have expressed their loyalty towards area MP David Ndakwa following his commitment to bolster education.
The principals were speaking during a bursary allocation ceremony at the Malava NG-CDF offices, where a total of Ksh 46 million was disbursed to schools.
Led by Kabras East Sub-County Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) Chairperson Rose Abuko, they said the MP has zeroed in on education to improve the constituency’s performance.
Abuko, who is also the principal of Malava Girls, said they were targeting to transform the sub-county education status to the next level, which will see improved university entry.
Her Kabras West Sub-County counterpart and Senior Principal of Shamberere Boys, Laban Sikolia, said the constituency was lucky to have a leader who is an educationist himself, as he knows exactly where to press to achieve better results.
Sikolia said the new MP will ensure that schools have adequate infrastructure and the necessary learning materials to steer them to greater heights.
“We are very proud to have an MP who clearly understands what education entails. He has been a publisher of learning materials, and through his initiative between 2003 and 2004, I managed to publish three of the eight books I have written. I know his potential, and I call upon my fellow principals to walk with him in this journey of making academics in Malava Constituency great again,” he said.
The principal added that the education status in the constituency is bound to take a new turn, as the MP’s key priority is education.
He lauded the continued efforts the MP has initiated through his associates to improve infrastructure development, with many schools benefiting from this noble gesture.
Sikolia assured that Kabras West, which is also the MP’s home turf, will produce sterling results in response to the continued support the leader is offering.
Kakamega County KESSHA Chairman Michael Amukowa Ochieng said the bursary was timely and set to go a long way in offsetting the many bills schools have been accumulating.
