A wave of excitement swept across Musingu Boys High School as students and staff staged a grand celebration to honour the handball team following their emphatic 30-19 victory over St Joseph Boys High School Kitale in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national final in Kisumu.
The school grounds came alive with chants, whistles, and drumbeats as the champions made their way through the gate.
Students formed guard-of-honour lines, singing the school anthem and chanting slogans in a show of pride and unity.
The triumphant squad, medals gleaming, waved to the jubilant crowd as cameras flashed and classmates scrambled for celebratory handshakes.
It was a moment of shared joy. Teachers momentarily set aside lessons to join the reception, applauding the players for their achievement.

At the assembly held in their honour, the players were cheered repeatedly as their names were mentioned, each roar from the students louder than the last. The atmosphere reflected not just excitement, but deep pride in what the team had accomplished.
Coach Caleb Simiyu thanked the school community for standing firmly behind the team throughout the season, noting that the warm welcome was a powerful reminder of the strong bond within the Musingu fraternity.
