Kisii County government is working to support youth by creating job opportunities through local initiatives in partnership with the National Government.
Governor Simba Arati advised youths to embrace self-discipline, listen to seniors, and balance their talents across areas such as sports, farming, and tech skills.
Speaking at Matagaro village, he asked the youth to use the free recording studio offered by Kisii County Government to record their music and sell it to earn a living.
He, too, asked them to enrol in Vocational Training Institutes (VTC) to gain skills that will enable them to work in the upcoming industrial Parks across the country.
He thanked President William Ruto for donating Sh 150 million to top up the Sh 150 million from Kisii County government towards the completion of the Kenya Industrial Park.
Upon its completion, the governor stated that the Kenya Industrial Park will absorb many youths from the area and help solve the unemployment problem.
The governor also highlighted the government’s efforts to improve education, including the launch of 132 boreholes in primary schools and the making of schools more child-friendly.

Arati eulogised the late Van Quiz, a visionary and disciplined musician, and asked other artists to emulate his legacy. A young widow, Ferisyer Ongeri, and her son survive the late Van Quiz.
