Tenwek High duo selected to join Kenya Sports Academy

Tenwek High School is celebrating a momentous achievement as two of its standout students, Lawrence and Bashir, have been selected to join the prestigious Kenya Sports Academy.

Their selection follows a spectacular performance during the inter-school games held on Thursday, 19th March 2026, at Emining’ High School in Mogotio sub-county, Baringo County.

The students’ remarkable display on the field caught the attention of sports scouts, who were impressed by their skill, teamwork, and determination.

Their performance not only highlighted their individual talents but also reflected the strong sports culture nurtured at Tenwek High School.

School senior principal Mutali Chesebe expressed immense pride in the students’ achievement, describing the news as a source of joy for the entire school community.

“We are thrilled to see Lawrence Maren and Bashir Omar take this significant step in their sporting careers. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, and they are a true testament to the talent that exists at Tenwek High School,” said. Chesebe.

The principal also extended his congratulations to the team of coaches, teachers, and fellow students who contributed to creating an environment that allowed Lawrence and Bashir to thrive.

He emphasized that this achievement underscores the importance of consistent mentorship, discipline, and encouragement in nurturing young talent.
