Merishaw School in Kajiado County has moved to allay fears among parents and the public following the circulation of a video on social media depicting an alleged bullying incident involving its students.
In an official statement dated March 16 and addressed to parents and guardians, the school clarified that the video captures a past incident that had already been addressed through the institution’s internal disciplinary mechanisms.
The administration reiterated its firm zero-tolerance stance on bullying, intimidation, assault, and any conduct that compromises the safety and dignity of learners.
According to the statement, the incident was detected promptly by members of staff at the time it occurred and was handled in accordance with the school’s safeguarding and disciplinary policies.
The students found culpable faced appropriate disciplinary action and are no longer part of the school community.
The school further confirmed that the matter was reported to Isinya Police Station, where a formal statement was recorded.

The parents of the students involved were duly informed and advised to take responsibility for any legal implications arising from the incident.
Additionally, the affected student received medical attention, counselling and the necessary support, enabling them to resume learning without further disruption.
Merishaw School cautioned that the recirculation of old content online can generate unnecessary anxiety, speculation and misinformation.
The parents were urged to rely solely on official communication channels for verified updates.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment that prioritizes student wellbeing, character development, and academic excellence.
It also thanked parents and guardians for their continued trust and cooperation.
