Shock as Baringo North teacher dies under unclear circumstances

Residents of Baringo North Sub County in Baringo County are mourning the tragic death of Christopher Tarus Kamuren, a dedicated teacher of English and Literature whose promising career was cut short under unclear circumstances.

Christopher, who had served at Kapchepkor Secondary School for five years, was recently transferred to Bossei Secondary School, where he had reported barely two weeks ago.

Colleagues described him as a hardworking, disciplined and healthy teacher who was deeply committed to shaping the lives of his students.

According to the reports, on the evening of Friday, March 6, after school hours, Christopher stopped at Kabartonjo town to have refreshments with friends at a local establishment. Later that evening, they reportedly left together on a motorbike heading towards Tirimionin.

Tragedy struck the following morning when Christopher was found lying unconscious near Berrekei Bridge by a well-wisher, with a deep cut on his head. He was rushed to Kabartonjo Health Centre and later referred to Baringo County Referral Hospital for specialized treatment.

Medical examinations, including a CT scan, revealed severe skull damage. Despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, Christopher sadly passed away a day later.

His death has left his family, friends, colleagues and students in deep shock and mourning.

Questions continue to linger over what transpired between the time he left Kabartonjo town and when he was discovered injured.

The family has called upon relevant authorities to conduct thorough investigations into the incident and ensure justice is served.

They have also appealed to members of the public who may have seen Christopher during his final hours to come forward with any information that could help unravel the circumstances surrounding his death.

As the community awaits answers, tributes continue to pour in for a teacher remembered for his dedication, humility, and passion for education.
