The newly elected 3rd Assistant Secretary in charge of Gender for the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Bomet Branch, Teddy Purity Chepngetich(Cheberur), has expressed heartfelt gratitude to members following a resounding victory in the 2026 branch elections.

Teddy Purity clinched the seat with an impressive 1,571 votes, attributing the win to overwhelming support, prayers, and encouragement from union members across the branch.

In a message of appreciation after the announcement of results, Chepngetich said the victory was not personal but a collective achievement for all members who believed in the shared vision and turned out to vote.

“I am truly humbled and honoured by the trust and confidence you have bestowed upon me. This victory belongs to all of you who walked with me throughout the campaign and supported me in prayers, encouragement, and ultimately your votes,” she stated.

The newly elected leader pledged to serve with dedication, integrity, and a strong commitment to promoting the welfare, unity and inclusivity of teachers within the branch.

Emphasizing the importance of solidarity, Chepngetich called on members to remain united as they work together to strengthen the union and advance teachers’ interests.

She also extended appreciation to competitor Daisy Chelangat, popularly known as Daisybright, for what was described as a spirited and respectful contest.

“I sincerely thank my worthy competitor for demonstrating true leadership and commitment to our union through a peaceful and engaging campaign,” the statement read.

The 2026 KUPPET Bomet Branch elections were marked by high voter turnout and enthusiasm, reflecting members’ active participation in shaping the union’s leadership and direction for the coming term.

With the elections concluded, attention now shifts to service delivery and implementation of members’ expectations under the new leadership team.
