Matulo Girls Senior School in Bugoma County has launched an ambitious campaign aimed at attaining quality grades in 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), buoyed by improved performance recorded in last year’s national examinations.
The school administration says the renewed academic drive has injected optimism among both teachers and students as the institution works toward achieving a mean score target of 7.2.
Chief Principal Judith Wamocho said the school is confident that the 125 candidates expected to sit this year’s KCSE will post impressive results, citing intensified academic preparations and strong commitment from the teaching staff.
She noted that the school has put in place structured revision programmes, regular assessments and mentorship initiatives aimed at sharpening the candidates’ academic readiness.
According to Wamocho, the institution has embraced a culture of discipline, teamwork and consistency in syllabus coverage, which she believes will play a critical role in achieving the targeted results.

Education stakeholders say Matulo Girls is steadily scripting an academic comeback since Wamocho assumed leadership of the institution. Under her stewardship, the school has strengthened internal academic monitoring systems while encouraging collaborative learning among students.
Teachers have also been credited for their dedication in mentoring candidates through extra revision sessions and close academic supervision designed to improve subject mastery.
Parents and members of the school’s management have equally rallied behind the institution’s academic agenda, offering support to programmes geared toward improving learners’ performance.
With months remaining before candidates sit the national examination, the school leadership remains optimistic that the intensified academic campaign will translate into quality grades and further cement Matulo Girls’ rising reputation in academic performance.
