The Ebukanga Technical and Vocational College (EBUTVC) will hold Career Guidance Week on Monday March 09, 2026 at the College premises in Emuhaya sub-county, Vihiga County.

The career fair which is expected to run until Friday March 13, 2026 will bring together key dignitaries in the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) sector, Junior and senior school students, the 2025 KCSE and previous years’ candidates, and the general public from the county and Western region.

According to the College’s Principal Newton Shivachi, the Career Fair Week will be beneficial since it will offer career counseling sessions, skills assessment and guidance, with those attending having an opportunity to meet industry professionals and discover career skills.

He added that those attending will have the opportunity to explore various technical and vocational courses offered by the college even as it gears for the 2026 May intake, urging the local communities who have been given major priority to attend in large numbers.

The event comes a few months after the college received a major infrastructure boost from the government’s Affordable Housing Programme where President William Ruto last year launched the construction of a 340-bed hostel for trainees.

The modern facility once complete will ease accommodation pressure and improve trainees’ welfare in the college, with President Ruto praising Ebukanga TVC for its impressive strides in expanding access to technical education and preparing young Kenyans for the job market.

“This hostel is more than a building, it represents our collective belief in the potential of our young people,” said President Ruto. “Technical and Vocational Colleges like Ebukanga are shaping the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and builders of our nation. We will continue to invest in these institutions because skills are the new currency of success.”
