West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin has pledged to continue supporting students who were previously sponsored by the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno.

Kachapin made the commitment when he met the students as they reported back to their respective schools, assuring them that their education would not be disrupted following the legislator’s untimely death.

“I want to assure you that your education will continue uninterrupted. In the spirit of Hon. Ngeno’s generosity and commitment to education, I will personally ensure that you complete your studies,” said Kachapin.

The governor commended the students for their determination, noting that their resilience reflects the strength of the community.

“Your determination to pursue education despite the challenges is exactly what our community needs. You are the hope of our future,” he added.

Kachapin observed that leaders and the community at large have a responsibility to safeguard the legacy of the late MP by investing in the learners he supported.

“We owe it to Hon. Ngeno’s legacy to make sure that the bright future he envisioned for you remains on course. Supporting you is not just a promise—it is a duty,” he stated.

He wished the students success in their studies and encouraged them to remain focused.

“Keep pushing, keep learning, and keep making your families and the community proud,” Kachapin urged.

The students expressed their joy and gratitude for the governor’s assurance, promising to work hard and excel in their studies.

“We are very grateful for this support. We promise to work hard and not let down those who believe in us,” one of the students said.
