A total of 20 students from Kakuma Refugee Camp have received full scholarship and admission at Boma School courtesy of the Elimu Scholarship Programme, marking another milestone in the institution’s continued support for refugee education in Kenya.
The learners form part of a larger group of 220 students who have been placed in various schools across the country after being granted the opportunity to pursue their education in Kenya. Earlier this week, the 20 students who joined Boma School were formally welcomed by the school principal Isaac Makokha.
During the reception ceremony, Makokha expressed gratitude for the opportunity to host the learners, extending appreciation to Elimu Scholarship Programme for sponsoring the students to further their education amid challenges they face in the camp.

The Principal added that the newly admitted students are not the first beneficiaries to enroll at the institution, saying over the past two years, a similar number of learners from the camp were admitted to the school.
According to the school administrator, the previous groups were well nurtured and recorded strong academic performance.

He expressed confidence that the newly admitted students will also excel in their studies and successfully complete their education.
Through the Elimu Scholarship program, bright but vulnerable refugee students are supported and enabled to access quality secondary education in Kenyan schools.
