Narok’s Chebitoik Day clinches handball titles in Lelagoin zone games

Narok County handball champions, Chebitoik Day Secondary School stamped its authority in the game after emerging champions in both the boys’ and girls’ categories during the first-term Lelagoin zone secondary schools’ games held at Chebulu grounds in Transmara East Sub-County.

This followed after the school displayed remarkable skill, discipline, and teamwork throughout the competition, underlining their status as one of the region’s strongest handball sides. Their double triumph was a clear demonstration of tactical excellence and consistent preparation.

In the boys’ category, Chebitoik Day delivered a commanding performance in the final, overpowering Lelagoin Secondary School 26–12 in a thrilling encounter.

The champions had earlier cruised into the final after a convincing 18–6 victory over Mara View Secondary School in the semifinals, showcasing a well-organized defense and sharp attacking play.

In the other semifinal, Lelagoin secured their place in the final with a 13–7 win over Olpopong Secondary School.

The girls’ team was equally impressive, dominating their opponents with confidence and composure. Chebitoik Day defeated Lelagoin 18–6 in the final, a result that reflected their superior ball control, speed, and tactical awareness. Their dominant display highlighted the significant progress the girls’ team has made in recent seasons.

The success has been credited to the technical bench led by head coach Ezekiel Keter, alongside deputy coach Gilbert Ngeno.

Speaking after the matches, Keter praised the players for their discipline, unity, and commitment, attributing the victories to rigorous training and teamwork.

Chebitoik Day’s outstanding performance has brought pride to Narok County and set a strong foundation as they prepare for higher-level competitions in the upcoming stages of the schools’ games calendar.
