The Bungoma National Polytechnic (TBNP) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, made history as it held its first-ever graduation ceremony as a national polytechnic, awarding 4,285 graduates with certificates and diplomas.
The event underscored the institution’s rapid growth, academic excellence, and rising national prominence in Kenya’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
Chief Principal Dr. Godfrey Murunga opened the ceremony, reflecting on the Polytechnic’s remarkable transformation over the past year.
“Today is a historic moment for Bungoma National Polytechnic and for all our graduates,” said Dr. Murunga. “This graduation is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence. In just over a year, our student population has grown to over 10,000 learners, reflecting the confidence that students and the wider community have in the quality of education and training we offer.”
Dr. Murunga highlighted the successful implementation of the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, which focuses on academic excellence, infrastructure expansion, innovation, and community engagement.
