Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has hailed the Court of Appeal’s decision that declared the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) constitutional.
Mule, who was in the forefront defending the NG-CDF through a bill in Parliament to entrench CDF in the constitution, said the move was an assurance that Kenyan children will continue learning without hindrances.
“Yesterday, the Court of Appeal declared CDF constitutional, and so we will continue educating our children,” said Mule.
He added that he will stand firm to ensure that programs that benefit Kenyans are protected.
Mule said he had formed a committee in his constituency to develop a ten-year Matungulu Education Plan 2026-2036.
He said the plan will address education priorities in the constituency for the next ten years.
We need to know what needs to be done to deal with the challenges in the Education sector in Matungulu for the next ten years,” said Mr Mule, adding that it was wrong for the government to send students to school without books and without school fees.

“We want to tell the government to stop politicking with education and the future of our children. We need a clear plan on how to improve the quality of education and ensure that all students go to school,” said the MP.
The committee, which includes educationists from the Constituency, Professor Lelo and Mr Musa, will visit Schools and collect views among stakeholders.
Mule, at the same time, faulted the President’s announcement to reduce taxes for taxpayers earning below Sh50,000, saying the move did not address the real problem, as many Kenyans, among them teachers, were overtaxed and their payslips stretched to the limit.
He said the tax reduction announcement was a political gimmick aimed at appeasing voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
Mr Mule said the solution was to vote out the current government and vote in leaders who could cushion Kenyans against economic hardships.
The MP spoke at Katulu village in his constituency during the burial of retired teacher Francis Manza Kisini, who died aged 78 years after a short illness.
