Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu has cautioned young people against allowing themselves to be used by self-seeking politicians to cause chaos and promote tribal clashes.

Reports indicate that a majority of the youth involved in political mobilization are college and university students, a trend that has raised concern among leaders.

Speaking to the press, Governor Ntutu said some politicians are moving around the country inciting the public along ethnic lines instead of offering policies that can improve the lives of Kenyans.

“Some leaders are spreading ethnic hatred instead of selling ideas and policies that can help the people,” Ntutu said.

He urged the youth to shun such leaders, warning that divisive politics threaten national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.

“Politics of division are dangerous and harmful to the unity of this country,” he noted.

The governor emphasized the need for unity, calling on young people to support leaders with clear, development-oriented agendas.

“Young people should support leaders who have practical policies that benefit the youth and the nation as a whole,” he said.

His remarks were echoed by religious leaders, who pledged to take the lead in promoting peace and unity within communities.

“We will continue preaching peace and unity among our people,” said one religious leader.

Parents were also urged to play their role by guiding their children, especially those in institutions of higher learning, to prevent them from engaging in wayward behavior.

The governor’s comments come at a time when political activities ahead of the next General Election are gradually gaining momentum across the country.
