Mogotio Township Senior School in Baringo County will host a three-day sports talent scouting camp early next year to identify gifted football and handball players for admission under a complete scholarship programme.
The camp, scheduled for January 2–4, 2026, will target Grade 10 boys and will culminate in the selection of outstanding athletes to join the school on three-year scholarships, allowing them to pursue education alongside competitive sport.
The school officials said the programme aims to strengthen grassroots sports development by providing talented learners with a structured environment to grow both academically and athletically.
The scholarship initiative is sponsored by Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek and forms part of broader efforts to expand access to education through sports, particularly for learners from financially constrained backgrounds.

Participants will undergo rigorous assessment focusing on technical skill, physical fitness, tactical awareness and discipline, with football and handball identified as priority disciplines due to their growing competitiveness in school games.
According to the school administration, the camp will be conducted free of charge, with meals and accommodation provided, reducing barriers for participation.
Candidates will be required to present their birth certificates, KJSEA certificates or results slips and appropriate sports attire.
Mogotio Township Senior School Principal and BOM Secretary Jane Kemei said the initiative is designed to create a pathway for young players to excel in school competitions while maintaining strong academic performance.
