Ossen Girls High School in Baringo County has ushered in a new era of leadership with the appointment of Chief Principal Dr. Jenipher Otolo as head of the institution.

Dr. Otolo officially assumed office from acting principal Diana Chesiyna, marking a significant transition as the school positions itself for upcoming academic milestones.

Her arrival comes at a time when national schools are adjusting their systems to accommodate the Competency‑Based Curriculum (CBC).

Previously, Dr. Otolo served at Mudavadi Girls High School, where she earned recognition for her strong academic leadership, discipline, and institutional growth.

Education stakeholders say her experience will be vital in strengthening academic performance, infrastructure development, and student welfare at Ossen Girls.

She succeeds Rev. Edith Koech, who was transferred to Kenya High School earlier this year. In the interim, Chesiyna steered the institution, earning praise from the school community for her dedication, stability, and commitment to maintaining academic standards.

During the handover ceremony, teachers, parents, and students expressed confidence in Dr. Otolo’s leadership, welcoming her with optimism and high expectations. Stakeholders noted that her appointment sets the pace for the school as it prepares to receive its first cohort of CBC learners in January, a historic milestone for the institution.

As a national girls’ school, Ossen Girls is expected to play a central role in shaping holistic education under the new curriculum framework, with its leadership transition seen as a critical step toward achieving that mandate.
