Shock in Kisii as school deputy head found dead in suspected suicide

Sorrow and sadness has engulfed Ichuni Ward, in Kisii County after a primary School Deputy Head Teacher was found dead in his house.

According to the family members, the teacher identified as Josephat Anyona of Mogweko Primary school had joyous moments with family members as they took supper together on the night of December 8 the later retired to bed.

However, on Wednesday morning, the family members got suspicious when he delayed to wake up. This prompted them to check his bedroom to ascertain his wellbeing and that is when they found his body dangling from the ceiling of the room.

They later raised alarm and reported the matter for investigation.

The Police from Kerika reported at the scene and removed the body to Keroka Subcounty Hospital Mortuary pending investigations.

“We cannot comment much on this sudden death until comprehensive investigation report is accomplished.” Said a police officer

Ichini Ward MCA Bouse Mairura mourned the teachers as a reliable educator and friend whose dead had come too soon.

“I have lost a great teacher and friend whose gap will take a long time to fill,” He said

The MCA asked the police to take serious investigation on the cause of the sudden of the teacher and inform the public as soon as possible to avoid any further anxieties and tensions among the residents.
