Kenya Association of Authors and Agents to launch Bomet Chapter

Dr. Stephen Koskei, Chairman of the Kenya Association of Authors and Agents, says the launch of the Bomet Chapter marks a major milestone in nurturing local literary talent.

The Kenya Association of Authors and Agents is set to officially launch its Bomet Chapter on Monday, December 29, 2025, in an event expected to bring together writers, creatives, educators, and community leaders. The launch will take place at Bomet Green Stadium from 10am.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chairman Dr Stephen Koskei said the establishment of the Bomet Chapter marks a significant step in promoting and nurturing literary talent in the region. He noted that the association aims to create a strong platform where authors and agents can collaborate, sharpen their skills, and access broader publishing and mentorship opportunities.

Dr Koskei emphasised that the chapter will focus on empowering emerging and established writers by providing training, guidance, and the tools needed to thrive in the literary space. He further appealed to well-wishers, institutions, and lovers of literature to support the initiative financially, citing the need to acquire crucial equipment and resources that will sustain the association’s programs and activities.

The Kenya Association of Authors and Agents has also encouraged members of the public, leaders, clergy, professionals, and partners in education to attend the event and show solidarity with the literary community in Bomet. According to the organising team, contributions will go directly toward strengthening the chapter’s capacity to serve authors and agents effectively.

Other officials supporting the chairman in organising the launch include Executive Secretary Pst. Rutoh, Vice Chairperson Rev. Rotich, Secretary Pst. Kirinyet, and Treasurer Mr Hassan Kirui.

The association has expressed optimism that the launch will ignite renewed interest in literature and inspire more young people in Bomet to embrace writing and storytelling as powerful tools for expression and transformation.
