Shock and confusion hit Kericho’s Litein Girls on Sunday evening after their “brother school” Litein Boys students stormed their territory in not a friendly way. This happened after the rowdy, wild boys descended on their Staff forcing them to flee for their lives. . Running battles, injuries were reported.
According to reports, and videos shared online, the boys switched off lights in all sections of the school before launching attacks on staff members, forcing them to abandon their houses and escape. The unrest then spilled beyond the school compound as the students attempted to storm the neighbouring Litein Girls School.

Police officers quickly intervened, chasing the boys away before the situation worsened. Members of the surrounding community also rushed in to help, leading to a fierce confrontation and running battles that left several people injured.
Some of the school buildings were set on fire during the strike, with firefighters deployed to the scene to contain the blaze. The flames were eventually extinguished, though the extent of the damage is yet to be established. Unconfirmed reports claim a number of injuries most of whom are students and staff. It is said that the students were armed with crude weapons stolen from their kitchen.
The Kericho County–based national school has a history of unrest, having staged a strike last term over food rations. The exact grievances behind Sunday’s rampage remain unclear as authorities launch investigations. Parents and locals expressed concern over repeated cases of indiscipline.
