Kenyan families can now access PlayKids+, a global award-winning children’s learning and entertainment app, following its launch in partnership with Safaricom.
The move, announced on September 17 in London, marks Sandbox Group’s debut in Africa and opens the platform to more than 40 million Safaricom customers.
The PlayKids+ app provides thousands of educational games, videos, and activities designed by experts to support early childhood development. It features well-known characters such as Baby Shark, Bob the Builder, and Pocoyo in an ad-free environment aimed at enhancing literacy, creativity, and emotional growth.
Through Safaricom’s mobile network, users in Kenya can activate the service at a daily rate of Ksh20, making the content widely accessible via mobile devices.

Sandbox Group, headquartered in London, is recognized globally for developing learning-focused entertainment platforms.
Its Vice President for Global Partnerships, Bernarda Duarte, described the launch as a ‘major milestone’ in the company’s efforts to bring high-quality educational content to children worldwide.
Safaricom Chief Consumer Business Officer Fawzia Ali said the partnership is in line with the telco’s digital transformation journey and its focus on providing services that enrich customers’ lives and support youth empowerment.
The Kenyan rollout also signals Sandbox Group’s broader plan to expand across Sub-Saharan Africa, extending its concept of “nutritional entertainment” to new markets.
