Teachers in Kirinyaga have called out their Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) union officials for failing to address the issues of the teachers’ health scheme as teachers continue suffering while seeking health care at the hospitals.
The secondary school teachers say that they are deducted money for two health scheme but they are still forced to dig down their pockets to pay for medicines and other services at the hospitals.
Led by Charles Mutuku, a teacher at Rukenga Secondary school, the teachers have call out Kuppet officials both at National and county level for failing to address the issues with the Teachers Service Commission to have the matters addressed.

Speaking in Kutus, the teachers have also taken issues with the union officials over the salary increment that was effected a few months ago saying that some teachers received an increment of as low as Ksh 37.
The teachers said that as that was not enough, the union leadership went ahead to deduct the monies saying that the teachers have not benefit from any salary increment.
Jacob Murigi, another teacher said that they have lost confidence with the leadership of Kuppet both at the national and county levels for failing to address the plight of teachers at the lower carder.
