Kenya’s Jobo and Uganda’s Bukedea in goalless stalemate as Butere Girls fall

National secondary school football champions St Joseph’s Boys “Jobo” Kitale were held to a barren draw by Bukedea Comprehensive of Uganda in a Group B match at the 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games staged at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Tuesday, 20th August.

The Jobo boys squandered several scoring opportunities, while Highway Kenya stunned Uganda’s Buddo High School 1-0 at Kakamega High. Nyanza champions Agai Mixed (Kenya) made light work of  Burundi’s EPM Mpanda with a thumping 7-1 victory at the same venue.

Musingu Boys of Kenya edged out defending East Africa secondary school champions Amus College of Uganda 2-1 in an entertaining clash at Bukhungu Stadium on Tuesday evening.

In the girls’ category, Kenyan champions Butere Girls were silenced 2-1 by Boniconsil Girls of Uganda at Bukhungu. Arch Bishop Njenga (Kenya) edged Fountain Gate of Tanzania 2-1, while Madira Girls of Vihiga (Kenya) beat Huya Girls of Rwanda 3-0 at Kakamega High. Kobala Girls (Kenya), however, were edged out 1-0 by Uganda’s Amus College.

In netball, St Joseph’s Girls Joga (Kenya) thrashed Galinii of Rwanda 57-13 at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), while Oyugi Girls (Kenya) narrowly lost 43-42 to Hamden Islamic of Uganda at the same venue.
