Keroka Law court on Monday August 4, denied bail to a 24 year old man who is accused of defiling a school girl in Kisii County.
Appearing before resident magistrate Collins Ombicha at Keroka Law Court, Kevin Mochama reportedly defiled the minor at Chepilat village in Borabu Constituency.
The court heard that the accused committed the crime on August 2, when the villagers reported the matter to the police who then arrested the him.
He denied the allegations and asked to be released on government bond pending the determination of his case.
The court denied his release on bond because of fear he may fail to appear in court to answer the accusations.

“I find this matter very sensitive and a big violation of children’s’ rights and giving the defendant a government bond will be perceived as an indirect way of abetting crime by the esteemed courts of this country therefore the court has denied him the bond,” Ombicha.
Ombincha said that the case will be mentioned on 14th this month pending its hearing on 4th December this year as the suspect will remain in police remand until that date.
