Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has unveiled a nationwide plan to employ youth trained in the field of education.

Speaking during the Women and Small Traders Empowerment Programme held at Mukumu Grounds, Kindiki commended President William Ruto for the successful recruitment of 76,000 teachers over the past two and a half years.

Additionally, 24,000 teachers will be employed before December, bringing the total to 100,000.

He commended President Ruto’s regime for regularly employing teachers, unlike in the past when the government employed only 4,000 teachers per year.

The move will reduce the unemployment rate among young people who are trained and have no jobs.

The Kenya Kwanza government, through the construction of affordable housing, will also construct hostels for students of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and Sigalagala National Polytechnic in Shinyalu.

The construction of hostels will pave the way for the employment of 320,000 youths, including engineers.

Kindiki expressed that all government programmes will enhance youth employment. “That is the programme which will create jobs for our young people,” he noted.

He pledged to prioritise Education among other development projects in the remaining two years to make Kenya better.

President Ruto and Kindiki, who are having sleepless nights to fulfil their mandate, are calling upon those interested to join the ruling party and work together to serve the people.
