Kitale Catholic long serving education secretary retires

Delphine Wachiyeh the long serving Education Secretary at the Catholic Diocese of Kitale has retired.

The staff at Immaculate Cathedral recently honored for transforming the education sector in the Kitale Diocese scaling the heights of education in primary and secondary schools.

Wachiyeh is also credited as the founder of Catholic schools Education Day in the Diocese where learners and teachers meet to discuss educational matters and top schools, teachers and learners are awarded and recognized.

The Vicar General in Kitale Diocese of Fr. Micah Kemboi Kibet said that Wachiyeh was dedicated to her work all through.

In the education leadership, Delphine Wachiyeh was also once the principal of St .Brigid Girls National School, where she led the school to feature prominently among the top schools in KCSE Examinations

On her part, Delphine Wachiyeh thanked Bishop Emeritus Mourice Anthony Crowley and Bishop Henry Juma Odonya of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale who fully supported her during her tenure in office.

In the same capacity she will be succeeded by Fr. Paul Sunguti.
