Parents in Makueni County have been urged to make sure their children have a peaceful homes and a conducive environment to thrive in.
Cabinet secretary for gender and children affairs Hannah Wendot Cheptumo, while talking at Unoa Comprehensive School, in Makueni County, during the day of African child commemoration, stressed that children only develop well in a peaceful homes, less of chaotic and toxic climate.
The commemoration by the first lady Rachael Ruto where she revealed that there has been notable progress in solving issues affecting children in the country.

The first lady praised the government’s efforts on collaboration of various stakeholders all meant to safeguard the rights and welfare of the children.
With this year’s theme being planning and budgeting for the children’s right progress since 2010 she called for prioritization of children in national development agenda.
The CS added that the ministry is focusing on creating laws that protect children domestically and in the society.
Makueni county first lady Anita Mutula revealed that the county has constructed friendly ECDE classes together with employing ECDE teachers all fir the benefit of the children welfare.
The county is also improving on health services, nutrition and social wellbeing of the child.
