Meteitei Mixed Secondary School successfully defended their netball title after defeating St Monica’s Girls 29-24 in the finals of the Kwanza Sub-County Secondary Schools Games, held on Saturday at Kwanza Girls’ grounds.
The victory earned them a place in the upcoming Trans-Nzoia County finals.
Led by coach Elias Kariuki, the Metetei girls displayed skill and resilience to maintain their dominance in the sport. In semis, Metetei 26-14 Kwanza Girls, semis two St Monica’s Girls 25-22 St Francis Kolongolo Girls
Their win means they will once again represent Kwanza Sub-County at the county level.
Kwanza Girls took third place after a commanding 35-15 win over St Francis Kolongolo Girls.

It was a moment of pride for the team, which will be making its first appearance in the county finals under the stewardship of Principal Ruth Nyongesa, who commended her players for their hard work and determination.
In girls’ volleyball, Kwanza Girls retained their title with a 3-0 set victory over St Monica’s Girls, confirming their continued dominance in the sport.
The boys’ rugby 7s defending champions, Bwake Boys from Trans-Nzoia East, cruised to a 43-0 win over St Mark’s Boys in the final played at Bwake grounds in Cherangany.
In the girls’ rugby final, Michai Secondary overwhelmed Biribiriet 24-0 in a one-sided contest on the second pitch of Bwake.
The top two teams from each discipline have now qualified for the Trans-Nzoia County finals, which are set to take place this Friday at Kwanza Girls and Kolongolo Secondary Schools in Kwanza Sub-County.
