Nyando Sub-County secondary schools football final between Katolo mixed and Onjiko Boys, which was played on June 7, 2025 at Onjiko Boys’ High school, has been nullified following a successful appeal filed by Katolo to dispute the match results.
Onjiko had initially won the match 2-0, but Katolo lodged a complaint with the County Education Office, accusing Onjiko of allegedly using players who were not registered students and also blaming their fans for causing violence that left some Katolo players injured.
After investigating the claims, the County Education Office ruled in favor of Katolo, citing violations of Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) regulations regarding player eligibility and crowd misconduct. As a result, the match result was overturned and a replay ordered.

The rematch has been scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025, though the venue and time are yet to be disclosed.
Sources hints that officials are considering neutral locations and plan to provide tight security to prevent a repeat of the earlier chaos.
The match is expected to determine who qualifies for the Kisumu County championship and keeps hopes alive for the regional and national school games.
