Red Cross officials in Kitui, local authorities, and community volunteers have spearheaded the search effort, which is now on its second day. Kisasi Chief Munyaka confirmed the incident and advised parents to ensure children do not attempt to cross swollen rivers during the rainy season.

The Chief said, “The rains have made rivers dangerous, and we ask all residents to be extremely cautious.”

River levels in the county are increasing due to persistent heavy rainfall, posing a major risk to locals.
