The director of Emmanuel VISPA Schools in Nyando Bishop Dr Hellen Ochieng has asked Christians to teach their school-going children good virtues.

She observed that parents should supplement the roles played by teachers in order to come up with complete societies and holistic human beings.

She has been elevated to a higher position within the ranks and file of the Repentance and Holiness Church. Rev Ochieng becomes a senior deputy archbishop in charge of the greater Nyando region.

The Bishop wants parents to complement teachers in shaping the future of learners.

She was speaking in Ahero, Nyando Sub-county, during a thanksgiving service following her appointment.

“I want to thank God very much for this day, as it marks the celebration of my consecration into the priesthood. Priesthood is a key pillar in the life of the church, the nation, and its people,” she said, reflecting on biblical examples of God’s choice of Israel, Levi, and Aaron as evidence of its divine significance.

Dr Ochieng reiterated the central message of her sermon, which highlighted the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary and its profound implications.

On the issue of rising abduction cases, Dr Ochieng declined to comment, stating she had not sufficiently reviewed the matter. Instead, she emphasized the church’s focus on advancing its agenda of repentance and readiness for the Messiah’s return.
