Kenya showcased their prowess at the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games, which concluded yesterday in Mbale and Bukedea districts of Eastern Uganda.
Kenyan schools delivered an impressive performance across various sports, capturing gold in rugby 15s with All Saints Embu High School, rugby 7s with Vihiga Boys, and girls rugby 7s with St. Joseph’s Kitale Girls.
In hockey, Musingu High and St. Joseph’s Kitale Girls claimed gold in the boys and girls categories. The boys 3×3 basketball title went to Friends School Kamusinga, while Butere High School secured gold in girls 3×3 basketball. Kesogon Secondary triumphed in girls volleyball.
The boys 3×3 basketball final saw Friends School Kamusinga narrowly defeat Uganda’s Seroma Christian School 14-13, with Shadrack Omariba earning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Butere Girls won the girls 3×3 basketball title by a 17-15 victory over Uganda’s St. Noa Girls at Amus College, where Daisy Awino was named MVP. St.
Joseph’s Kitale Girls took bronze by narrowly overcoming Uganda’s St. Mary’s Kitende 14-12 in the third-place playoff.
Silver medals were awarded to Nyamira High in girls hockey, St. Charles Lwanga Secondary in boys hockey, Friends School Bwake in boys rugby 7s, Kinale Girls in girls rugby 7s, and Kwanthanze High in girls volleyball.

Kenyan teams also secured several bronze medals: Musingu High in boys football, Nyakach Girls in girls football, St. Luke’s Kimilili in boys handball, Tigoi Girls in hockey, and St. Joseph’s Kitale in girls 3×3 basketball.
Musingu High achieved third place in boys’ football with a 3-2 win over Bukedea Comprehensive School, while Nyakach Girls took third place in girls’ football after an 8-7 penalty shootout victory against Amus College, following a 2-2 draw in regular time.
In girls hockey, St. Joseph’s Kitale Girls secured the title with a commanding 7-0 win over Mushanga, and Tigoi Girls finished strong with a 6-1 victory against Bweranyangi at Mbale School of Hygiene.
St. Joseph’s Kitale Girls emerged as the top team in the girls hockey standings with 16 points, followed by Nyamira Girls with 13 points, and Tigoi with 11 points.
Additionally, Kenya dominated the overall athletics titles, concluding a highly successful FEASSSA Games for the nation.
